Help me leave the world behind Lord!

With all its desire and lure to my senses.

All the immediate sensations and appeasement.

Draw my heart to You oh my God! Jesus

hold me close to You and Spirit help me see truth!

all day long am I surrounded by the enticing smells and aroma of sin.

all day long am I standing upon my freedom from the bondage of sin, and cling to You Jesus for purchasing my freedom! Oh help me put sin far from me.

My heart is steadfast oh Lord, create a clean heart inside my chest! One that pants for Your approval all day long! Cause my eyes to see You as my only source of satisfaction and life.

Let the knowledge that I live on Your very word better than food itself be my meditation. Remind me that I am sustained by the very words of Your son Jesus and You uphold me with Your right arm.

I daily feel my flesh and heart longing for this world and its pleasures and so I welcome every trial that You help me walk in victory through. When i awake I go quickly to You my Lord and give myself to You, submitting control to You because my own heart is deceitful and I am weak on my own. I am born with the tendency to pull away from You my Savior, to wander as a lost sheep so I am quick to give my life a living sacrifice to You and submit my thoughts under Your control.

As Jesus has prayed for me Lord keep me from the evil one! Allow me to be a tool for Your kingdom in this world drawing all peoples to You and bringing You glory. Empower me to do Your will and teach me how to hate the sin and love the sinner.

Cover Me

Lord You are a great cover over me!

Your warmth is my peace when the world is cold and I am grateful You care for me. Lord You alone are able to stop the bullet, break the arrow and save me from the enemies snare!  As i take each step You hace order for me You are a shelter around me against the enemy.

God when those who hate me tried to break me into temptation it was You my Father who opened a window of escape. Oh how i am protected by Your hand! A fortress around me and my household You have become and my night is filled with peaceful rest all my days. The forces of this world come in like a flood and You scatter them and they retreat in many directions. their tails tucked they run back to their master! Greater is He who is in me than he who is in this world!

Oh my wonderful Daddy God, You have captured my heart! as You keep me from harm teach me Your ways. Teach me and prune me to bear even more fruit for You. Keep me as I give you me.

All Hemmed In

God You have hemmed me in! I no longer need to fear what mere humans can do to me, what any of creation may try. It is such wonderful news to take in and my mind can not lay hold to it, understanding goes beyond my capacity.

You Father have placed Your hand of blessing on me and there is nowhere i can go that i am alone! In the valleys You are with me, in the shadows You are my light, in the dessert Your are my drink, in the cold Your are my blanket and in the storm You are my comfort. How wonderful to serve such a loving God!

Your strength supports me and You ride the wings of morning just to be with me! I do not deserve such faithfulness but i accept it all the same. You are my portion God, a sour taste that fills my soul with sweetness. Always You know the correct path and eagerly show me. Always You have what is needed and wait only for me to ask. Always You call me to Your side and rescue me from myself.

Protect me this day my Father, from the evil plots of the enemy. For each thing he seeks to tear down, build even higher. For each thing he seeks to destroy, increase its stability. For each thing he seeks to steal, restore 7 fold. Guide me because i seek You and no other, so that Your name will be glorified.
