The Light of Israel

And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day. Isaiah 10:17

Jesus was and is the "Light of Israel." He is also the "Light of life" and the "Light of men," a "Light to lighten the world." But the "Light of Israel" was "to burn and devour thorns and briers." Dear child of God, are you bringing the useless branches, the unpleasant, unlovely things of your life into the Light of His Presence that they may be consumed? Some day the shining of His Presence will destroy the very Advocate of evil. Shall we not submit our lives to that Wondrous Light and ask Him to consume all evil in us?

eager to praise

All of creation praises loud
as voices it carries to God
nothing held back
the beauty of self abandon

oh God help me be like that

The trees stretch upward
they wave in union with the wind
acknowledging the Creator
Praises rise Praises rise

God help me be like that

God reveal my intentions
reveal my inhibitions
reveal withheld parts of my heart
God reveal me so it can be burned

God make me like that

Burn me as the silver in a pot
removing all impurities
removing all shapes of "me"
as You make me reflect Jesus

Untill I am like all creation, praising my Creator

Fortress

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Psalm 18:2

"A mighty fortress is my God," and no evil may reach the soul that shelters there. There is no saint of God who may look back through all the troubled years of any earthly pilgrimage, and not say, if he shall truly speak, "I have been kept by the power of God." Every failure of our lives and each defeat has come when we have sought some earthly fortress rather than our Lord. I am hiding, Lord, in Thee. Amen.

Numbers 13:31-32

But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

Prayer

I reject every evil report no matter where it comes from in Jesus name.
I refuse to see anything negative in relation to the promises of God concerning me and all that concerns my household.
I will succeed in this new year. Amen.
